MyBA is offering easy language courses in Pāli and Sanskrit and these courses are designed for beginners who are interested to learn basic Pāli and Sanskrit. Students will be familiarised with Pāli and Sanskrit alphabets (devanāgari), grammar structure, technical terminologies and short Buddhist passages under the guidance of teachers.

Certificate Course in Pāli

Time: 7:30pm to 9:30pm (Every Tuesday)

Duration: One Semesters

Highlights:

This course is primarily an introductory basic course for those who are new and have no basic knowledge of Pāli. The objective of this course is to familiarize the students with the basic elements of the Pāli language in relation to the Buddhist discourses (Suttas), enabling the student to gain a very sound knowledge of the Pāli language and the Buddha’s teaching, which is compiled in Pāli.
The Easy Pāli Course helps students who are interested in learning Pāli texts of Theravāda tradition using Pāli language.
Short Pāli passages will be taken from the important suttās from the Buddhist Pāli literature and will be analysed to explain the Pāli grammar .
In the first semester, it would focus specially on building the basic Pali grammar and vocabulary and sentence structure.
Students who have successfully completed the course with satisfactory attendance (over 80%) will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance.

The course material will be provided by the lecturer during the class.

Time: 8:00 to 10:00pm every Thursday

Duration: One Year (Two Semesters)

Highlights:

This elementary Sanskrit Course is designed for beginners with background of Sanskrit who are interested to learn basic Buddhist Sanskrit in one academic year. Students will be familiarized with Sanskrit alphabets (in devanagari), grammar structure, Buddhist technical terminologies and short Buddhist Sanskrit passages under the guidance of a teacher.
This Course is also helping students who are keen in learning Mahāyāna texts using Classical Sanskrit language. Their corresponding Chinese texts will also be utilized. Short Sanskrit passages will be taken up for analysis from Vajracchedikā-prajñāpāramitā-sūtra (Diamond Sutra), Hṛdaya Sūtra (Heart Sutra) and others.
It also helps students to read and write Devanāgari.
Students who have successfully completed the course with satisfactory attendance (over 80%) will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance.
